Once you get past the faintly ludicrous conceit that Stone was ever an average-looking high school girl who nobody noticed, she handily carries every scene the whip-smart and deviously funny Easy A. Like Alicia Silverstone and Lindsay Lohan before her, Stone takes a teen comedy that was already pretty good on its own and elevates it to something that's almost transcendently fun. Olive Penderghast is easily the coolest girl at East Ojai High School, even though she's unpopular enough that nobody would notice. She's got a great sense of humor and fashion sense, a rock-solid relationship with her equally awesome and hilarious parents (Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci), and is generous enough to do a pretty major favor for a gay friend constantly beat up by the school bullies. Olive agrees to pretend to have sex with him to boost his reputation, and once word gets around to the other nerds and closet cases at her school, Olive develops her own reputation as a grade-A slut. Chas & Dave (& drummer Micky Burt) in rare backing musician mode for comedian Jim Davidson in 1981.Despite their immense popularity, Chas & Dave are very poorly represented via YouTube. I have around 20 hours of footage (mainly from their 1979-1987 commercial & creative peak) so I've started this channel to share some of these classic performances. I'm always looking for more Chas & Dave footage (or upgrades of videos I already have), so if you have anything & feel like trading then please get in touch! Also let me know if there are any particular songs that you're after & I'll see if I can help. Please note this channel is not officially sanctioned by Chas & Dave, & any infringement of copyrights is unintentional; my sole aim is to promote their music to a wider audience. See my blog for an in-depth review of Chas & Dave's classic albums (& how to buy them on official CDs): themargatemusicman.blogspot.com
