zumiez.com During the trip to the Indianapolis event, our judges and staff were placing bets on whether or not the contest would even go down. The midwest has been battered with rain all over the place lately and a rain delay would come as no surprise to the skaters n this area. As the van pulled into the skatepark, we saw dark clouds looming. Although there were scattered puddles around Indy's Monon Community center Skatepark, it didn't stop the locals from showing up and representing. The finals were held down by five rippers with endless amounts of energy. With third place honor going to Brady Jenkins who, at about four feet tall, was relentless in his consistency, flipping up the euro gaps and never missing a front board down the handrail. Second went to Quentin Roundtree, showing the crowd what massive noseslides across and down the parks largest hubbas were all about. And taking first was Brendan Murphy, who shined above all the rest with just about every flip trick in the book going either up or down those euro-gaps and over the hips. Brendan's highlight was a textbook varial heel down the biggest gap at the last second. Luckily the rain stayed away just long enough for the contest to wrap up and award these dudes their prizes. As the van pulled out of the park, the raindrops started right up again. http

zumiez.com Making it to the finals from all of the heats included Julian Christianson, Ke'Chaud Johnson, Tyson Bowerbank, Corey Huber and Alec Majerus. Corey and Tyson were killing the course but didn't make top 3. It was Alec Majerus with his kickflip front feeble and back 270 lipslide down the rail who took third place. Ke'Chaud Johnson was skating everything with speed and power. He back 360'd over the rail, ollied up the stairs and switch back lipped the rail. Ke'Chaud ended up in second place after an amazing day of skating. No one was a match to Julian Christianson after he hardly missed a trick all day. He landed a switch tail 270 down the rail nollie back heel and switch front shove down the stairs, nollie nosegrind on the plank and nollie 5-0 down the cannon just to name a few. Congratulations to Alec, Ke'Chaud and Julian for winning all expense paid trips to the 7th Annual HH Skate Finals at X-Games! http
zumiez.com Zumiez Couch Tour stop number ten took place in New Jersey where the RVCA team came out and skated. Ed Templeton was in attendance doing impossibles and noseblunts. Cairo Foster was skating his fourth demo at the Couch tour and he was ripping as usual with tricks like backside lipslide and back noseblunt off the plank. The younger guys David Reyes and Julian Davidson were killing the park with nollie front crooks and front blunt shoves down the rail. Corey Kennedy did all sorts of flip tricks down the stairs including switch backside flip, switch back heel and switch bigspin heel. Nestor Judkins and Austin Stephens were skating well doing lines all around the course. Kevin Long was injured, but he was out and about to watch the demo and sign some autographs. Keegan Sauder skated at his second Couch Tour stop this year and destroyed the quarterpipe as well as the rest of the course. It's always a treat to watch Leo Romero skate. He nosegrinded off the coping of the quarterpipe to flat, nollie back heeled the stairs and even 5050 ollie the flat gap to 5050 across the top of the course. http
zumiez.com Ryan Thompson placed third last year and third this year. Ryan dissected the course and got a front blunt and back 5-0, front 180 out across the plank, front big spin over the bank and a nice ollie transfer into the roller. Matt Feist's creativty and solid tricks put him into second place. He reverse-pole jammed the cannon with a lipslide, nosegrinded down the hubba, back tail across the plank and front salad down the rail. Johnathan Bastian undoubtedly earned first place. His all-around approach was key. He nailed a boneless 540 in the quarter, a big tweaked indy from the launch ramp over the box, back lip, back blunt and front noseblunt down the rail and a huge frontside indy in quarterpipe. Mike Davis brought home the New Era Originator of the Day Award with his tech wizardry. http
zumiez.com The Volcom crew came in with tons of energy. They skated fast and they skated everything! Mark Appleyard and Jake Duncombe charged the obstacles and ripped apart the course. David Gonzalez gets the hardest tricks done effortlessly. David got a fakie airwalk down the stairs and a kickflip front lip on the quarterpipe. All these guys really showed why Flip's Extremely Sorry won Best Video at the Transworld Skate Awards this year. Dustin Dollin played hypeman and destroyer of all things skateboarding. Darrell Stanton and Caswell Berry killed the cannon and the rail. http
zumiez.com The Almost Team rolled into Denver with almost the whole team, except for Daewon Song. The legendary Rodney Mullen showed up as the anchor, and Chris Haslam lead the way in the demo. Lewis Marnell destroyed the double-set with super tech tricks, landing consistently and properly on bolts every time. Ricky Webb skated great, flipping into the hubba with crooks and back tail. Cooper Wilt, Justin Schulte, and Ray Maldonaldo put together some great lines all over the course too. http
