Halo 3 took the best elements of Halo 1 and Halo 2 and turned out to be a hellofa good game.
The Halo 2 Multiplayer Map pack contained 9 new multiplayer maps (which could also be purchased for download via Xbox Live), as well as some other non-gameplay bonus content.
Halo 2 was a mixed bag. While it added online play via Xbox Live, and finally let you wield those cool energy swords, the singleplayer-game was buggy and felt incomplete.
