The Peninsula Town Center is rising from the grounds of the former Coliseum Mall. The town center celebrates its grand opening Thursday.

The Peninsula Town Center will celebrate is grand opening Thursday at 10 a.m. About 30 stores are expected to open their doors.
The Chapman, a building of luxury apartments, opens in 2009.
J.C. Penney in 2007 becomes the first Peninsula Town Center business to open. Several more openings followed, including Target, Chipotle, Barnes & Noble, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, The Pub and bd's Mongolian Grill.
The Coliseum flyover was torn down in 2007.
Demolition of the Coliseum Mall begins with Dillard's in 2006. It continued once the mall closed in 2007.
